Gyarikthar was born on 24/Dec/1969 in Lugtsang Gongwa village, in Amdo, Tibet. In 1992 he completed his study in Tsolho Minority Teacher’s Training School and became a teacher at Sumdo district. From 1994to 2002 he held the position of director in The “Kagya” School and later at The “Yonshe” School. In addition, during that time, in 1997 he graduated from his independent study course at Qinghai Province Minority University. In1998 he studied at the Tibetan Traditional Culture Research Institute organized by the United Nations Development Program/Crisis Prevention and Recovery (UNDP/CPR/96/401/Pro-jest) he received a series of first-place awards in the province. In 2002 he sought refuge in India and has been working in Multi Education Editing Centre as president. He is a member of the regional Tibetan Election commission Dharamsala and is also the secretary of Central Executive Committee of Dhomay.
